I am from an unknown past
From cigarettes and whiskey
I am from the constant moves from house to house unknowing where I’ll g
I’m from the uneasy feeling in your stomach
I’m from the heart breaks and jail time
From drug overdoses and alcohol poisoning
I’m from secrets and bad habits
And from a family wanting to love but unsure how
I’m from the sick feeling of sadness
And hidden hope
I’m from the unsure trusting with the one I call “dad”
I’m from prescribed love
And forced hugs
From not knowing how I’ll grow
From the unknown parts of darkness
