Day by Day
As I watched the sun rise,
My fears faded into gray.
The voices that once called my name,
Scarcely ever stay.
The day overtakes the night,
And those thoughts are pushed away.
As the light comes in,
I realize, my mistakes aren’t here to stay.
Hope returns, and I feel like I can take another day.
So in the end, I feel the night might just be my greatest fear,
For I feel my spirit recoil every time that it draws near.
But as I watch the sunrise, today and everyday,
I know the voices that call my name, will never be here to stay.
The sun comes up, so I wake up, and take it
Day by day
