I am From
I am from Poland spring water
From Cheerios and Tropicana.
I am from the corner house with the big pool
(hot, humid it felt)
I am from the garden,
the sunflower,
that is shiny bright yellow, surrounded by all different colored flowers.
I am from the Christmas house light show and big brown eyes,
From Nick, Donna, and Courtney.
I am from the Saturdays at the movie theaters and vacations to foreign countries every year,
I am from the “clean your room” and “don’t fight with your sister”
I am from church every Sunday, Easter brunch in my aunt’s backyard.
I am from Huntington then Poland,
Pasta and kielbasa.
From the competitive family sports,
The weekends at my sister’s tournaments,
I am from picking the biggest pumpkin during the fall festivals
I am from pictures and quotes on the walls
Reminding us of how grateful we are for all the adventures we have been on.
I am just one part of our big family tree.
