Open Book
  I am an open book
  But I have pages missing
And ink blotches on certain words
  Making them unreadable
  My bindings are bent
  My seams are spent
And many of my passages are in languages
  That you can't even understand
  But you'll try anyway
  Skimming my table of contents
  And the headings of chapters
  You've dog eared my pages
Creating creases that cannot smooth out
You've annotated and highlighted my words
  You've written in my margins
Words that I cannot possibly erase
  You've wasted away
Searching through words you cannot comprehend
But the answer you seek was so easy to read
  Because it said plainly
  I am an open book
  But I have pages missing
  It was on the cover
  And you forgot to look
