assembled ashes
we are remains of what no longer remains.
shedded atoms and frayed edges of the surface,
melted away and recycled
reshaped and undone again.
forged as humans,
made from the ashes of stars.
molecules arranged in just the right way
for however long,
however short.
predetermined, like an unsent letter.
and so we will fall apart.
particles of our body drifting like pollen
ending as it began.
monumental and very, very far away.
our pain, heartbreak, embarrassment-
will be dispersed back into nullity.
every mistake, suddenly in the mix with the oblivion.
the greatest absolution
the greatest redemption
we all end with clean slates
we all end without remembrance
