Ode to a Lost Friend
And it was here the meadows sighed,
with a bold breath of the heavens,
with an intake of fresh memories.
And there sits a girl,
lost in the world given to her,
lost in the flowers surrounding her.
And it was here adventure began,
imagination being her only limit,
imagination being her only downfall.
And it was here in the meadows,
where the birds chirped for her effervescent voice,
where the birds chirped for her loss.
And it was here the meadows sighed,
for all they could do is wallow in silence,
for all they could do is wait for the return
of their lost friend.

While writing this, I was thinking about all the stages of friends each person goes through while growing up and how in many cases we lose friends for various reasons, some more heartbreaking than others.
