I am meek,
I wonder why I can break as easily as a glass mirror.
I hear that it gets better,
I want to believe that.
I see the tears that blur my vision.
I am the ground you walk upon.

I am forsaken
I pretend the world is still a magical place.
I feel his presence start to finally disappear.
I touch the hearts around me.
I worry that I’ll never amount to anything.
I cry because I can’t let anyone love me.
I am the words you stutter out.

I am faltered,
I understand people change their minds,
I say a free soul is rare.
I dream that one day I’ll become accepted.
I try to form my feelings into words.
I hope I’ll never say goodbye.
I am love that was wasted.
