The Entirety of You
You glow like the end of a cigarette and the smoke clouds my mind
It burns the back of my throat and leaves an ashy taste behind
You’re in control of my emotions like the moon controls the tide
It pulls me in with a comforting embrace of the the waves when I’ve cried
Your eyes have the power to show me why you’re different from everyone else
It makes me forget everything and in the bliss of your emerald eyes, I lose myself
Your laugh lights up the sky creating colors I’ve never seen before
It fills my stomach with a million butterflies, a feeling that I can’t ignore
Your voice is as soothing as the windy breath of late summer nights
It carries me into the clouds and sings me to sleep in its delicate white
