Fears
I’m afraid
Not of the monsters
Or the dark
Or the unknown.
I’m afraid
But the thing that
Scares me most
Is what i know,
What happens
When no one’s around
Well, no one who can
Help me.
The thoughts.
The words.
The person.
Some things I
Can’t name.
But the worst
Thing of all
Is when you
Have to explain
But no words
Come to mind.
And when it happens
There’s no stopping it.
You may talk
To the counselor
But nothing will change.
If it does, It’s only a little
But there’s still
That little chance
Of my feelings
Crumbling to pieces
Tears in my eyes.
The words hurt.
So much pain.
Physical, verbal, emotional.
It won’t stop.
Maybe someday
There won’t be
So much fear.
