words won't go away
for they shall be forgiven
but never will be forgotten

words won't go away
knives they are repeatedly
being stabbed in our wounds

words won't go away
the simplest can be graven in your heart
and one word can simply destroy your life

words won't go away
for they are slowly etched in your heart
planning to stay there forever

words won't go away
your dreams that were once pleasant
could become haunted

words won't go away
they'll stay with you
no matter where you hide

This piece was just something that started out small, but I soon came to realize the potential of it. Words have always been something that I've noticed can impact people in big ways. Depending on your choice of words or the way you put them together, they can have completely dissimilar meanings. To some people a certain group of words will mean one thing, when to another it'll mean the complete opposite. You have to be careful when it comes to words, for they are powerful things.

But I found the happiness and consistency I wanted for so long at the exact moment I decided to build my own table and my own chairs." ~ Leslie Odom Jr.

So poignant, if only everyone understood the weight of words so clearly
