Las Game Of The Season
It was a toasty evening
I could see the heat waves
On the ground in front of me,
and on the field in front of me
We were getting prepared for
Our game after the 7th graders,
We were warming up behind the high school
on our practice field
We drilled on our new formation called quads
then the time was up,
we were either ready to WIN
or take a LOSS
We started walking towards the field,
two by two in a line,
No talking
no eye contact,
By the time we got to the locker room,
To get our heads straight
We were getting pumped up in the locker room,
The 7th graders were almost done
It was game time and we went out of the locker room
two by two again,
But this time we were looking furious
and ready to destroy some kids
We ran to the field
And started stretching,
We ended with our Knight Jacks,
Ready to go to town on our last break down of the year
The whole team was so pumped up
for the first play of the game
In the last game of our season
Our last game in Middle School
We lost the coin toss so we got to kick to the opposing team,
And from there our defence was so ready to go
On the field in my stance,
at my safety position ready to destroy someone!
We bring them to 4th down,
coach yells out, “Justin, and BIG JOHN all close, HUT!”
All I could see is john and justin sacking the QB
before he could hand it off to their running back
Boom! After that sack it was over
they turned it over to us and
We got even more nervous but excited
because it was are first time about to do quads
So we just had to sit and wait to see how it unfolded
It works MARVELOUSLY
First down after first down! BONK!
The quarter was over
After a short talk before we had to go back on the field
To get a couple more drives and first downs
We are about 15 yards away from the touchdown
So we gave the rock off up the middle
And there we go a touchdown!
From there we were on a roll for touchdowns
By the end of the game it was Kenowa 27, Northview 7,
What I learned in that hard work, listening, and teamwork, pays off at the end.
