For being someone who
Steals souls,
My defenses lift
When you laugh.
For being someone who isn’t supposed to
Feel pain
My smile fades as you walk away.
For being someone who isn’t supposed to fall
I can’t get back up when you
Knock me down.
I wish that I could scream to the silence of the stars
That I want to watch every sunrise
And sunset
Until the end of your days,
But you are higher than me.
Yet I still apologize,
Because you tell me to be heartless
But I cannot tell you in heaven
I am.

I was actually inspired by the feelings I had for someone that I knew would never work out. Then I thought, 'Who would be the worst person in the world to be in love?' and my heart rested on Death.
