Where I Come From
I am from a place no more
A country destroyed by evildoers
A city I have never seen
But I can only imagine
Where thousands of my kind stay
Where my parents lived, learned and worked
I am from farms, and cattle and life
Chickens, cows, and crops
From a safe, no more place.
Where kids roamed freely, and walked to school
Cheerfully and happily
A beautiful place full of life and beauty
I don’t see that anymore, and I can’t go back
A land with thousands of my kind
A city just for us, we loved it
Every Sunday we walked to church
Loved and praised the beautiful, amazing church
And on weekdays we worked hard with our families
I am from the war, from my real home
I wish I could see it, the way it used to be
It hurts to see that I am from a place that has been destroyed
No more home, no more dreams
Thank you evildoers
For taking away the place that makes me me.
