Sea of Stars
Soft breeze
Floats above the water
Bright reflections make the lake glow
As I gaze up
At the sea of the stars
The only light
In an abyss of darkness
Streaks of light
Disappear in an instant
As the glowing pinpoints begin to dwindle
Into dawn's first light
They will come back like they always do
Like they always will
But it will never be the same as that night on the dock.

I was inspired by one night at my family's lake house, when me and my parents were laying on the dock watching a meteor shower. It was very dark, so the stars were really easy to see. It was also cold, and very quiet. I thought it would be a good thing to write a poem about.
