It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
There is one day each and every year
Where family gathers from far and near
To share the joy we have built all year
And show all of our holiday cheer
With wonder and amazement in the air
There isn't a second to spare
We hop in the car and off we go
Through a wonderland full of snow
We arrive at a cute little home
One that I haven't been in since she left for Rome
With love and cheer in my hand
I knocked at the door from where I stand
With a creak the door was ajar
And from what I could see there was the true star
She extends her arms to give me a hug
But all of a sudden I could feel a tug
My cousin pulls me away
And says it's time to play
We were welcomed in from the bitter cold
Into a house full of gold
full of, festivities, decorations and light
It was time for fun throughout the night
With smells of cookies that fill the air
And sounds of joy from everywhere
We play board games and look at picture books
While at work are all the cooks
We sing along to our favorite holiday songs
While the cooks toss the salad with tongs
We are told it's time to eat
And we rushed to the table like an army fleet
The table has been decorated with all of our holiday cheer
We all take our seats that we have sat for each and every year
We grab our plates and walk to the little old wooden counter top
As sounds of Sodas open with a pop
We grab our food and delicious treats
We all especially love the meats
As we all finnish taking our food
And we are told not to be rude
We all take our seats and say grace
My brother bursts out and says “GRACE, now let's eat” with a straight face
As everyone laughs and finishes smiling
I walk over to the beautiful tilting
I grab the book that is full of prayers so great
And turn to the page with the appropriate date
I read my part and take my seat
As we laugh, smile, and eat
Oh it truly is the most wonderful time of the year
It may be over but it will be back and full of cheer
