My Poems

As a writer I think I have grown alot since the beginning of the year as I feel more comfortable typing and writing. If I were to pick my favorite poem, it would be my Emotional litany.  These were major events in my life that really activated my emotions. I did however, have to make some changes. Those changes I made were in punctuations and I wanted to make sure that the reader understood that these were sad, happy, and fearful moments for me. I also changed the line breaks for both poems. The reason why is that I did not want my poems to look like a paragraph; I wanted it to look like a poem. There is one thing I did leave the same, and it is the line spacing.  I left this the same so that the reader knew that the poems and not a story. I arranged my poems by having 4 stanzas in my Emotional litany and having two to six lines in each stanza and for my Where I am from poem I used five stanzas with one line in each stanza.

Emotions are….

Frustration is: Relearning how to walk after my most recent leg surgery. It was painful, and difficult for not only me, but the whole family. Thankfully my orthopedic surgeon had figured out that the device had moved, and he did another surgery to fix what was wrong. To this day I still am relearning how to walk properly.

Fear is: Finding out my Dad had Acute Pancreatitis, and Blood Clots somewhere near his gastrointestinal tract. It was scary for all of us because the doctors weren't listening when he said that he was in pain! They thought he was wanting pain medications, but my mom made them do a test. What was also scary is if they hadn't found out about the blood clots later on, my dad could've gotten more injured!

Sadness is: My Grandma Barb died last August. She had Multiple Sclerosis, and she had dementia because of the Multiple Sclerosis. We loved her so much and miss her alot.

Joy is: Going to Disney World for the first time with my mom and dad. It was a truly delightful experience for us. We were very sad when we had to leave.

Where I am from:

I am from:
A family of three, who all fill me with glee
                                                              I am from:
A mother who works for us, she is one person I can trust.
I am from:
A father who works so hard, but sometimes gets tired.
I am from:
A dog who likes to play and play, and do anything but sleep all day.
I am from:
A cat who lays there like a mat. But is also very fat.
