Summer starts so satisfyingly slow.
Plants rooted and beginning to grow.
Children playing, happy and hopeful,
Trees providing shade, beauty hidden.
School time approaches, taboo and toilsome.
Greens outside, lively no longer,
Now replaced, all raw and ragged.
