Put Me In The Grave

October 17, 2016
By Anonymous

I gave her the gun

44, one in the chamber

I stand in front of my grave

I dug it myself

She admired its power

I admired her

I want to hold her

Caress her hair

The softest golden vanilla

She put the firearm down

Sings the sweetest melody

Her words brush my ears

gentle, a blanket

Erasing my stress

Coating me with warmth

with love

I sit, legs dangling

She sits next to me

Gun in her hand

"Do it"

Her grasp on the weapon

She is my demise

I created my perception of her

She's never done anything wrong

She raises the gun

Barrel parallel to my heart

I close my eyes

I relax

She will give me relief

The ending I want

My legacy

Being forgotten with me

I release my final breath

She releases as well,

She gets up, walks away

I open my eyes

Gun in the pit

I leap down and pick it up

I hold it firmly

I put it to my chest

I pull the trigger

----------------------------

She took the bullet

Her right fist calm

She steps out of my sight

She will never end me

She will never give me closure

She will never speak to me again

She is too kind

She is too perfect

Amongst a group of very dark poems, this has the happiest endng. I got my inspiration from the greatest mistakes I've ever made that occured in the last 26 days. If you enjoyed reading this or the story it tells, I'd be happy to upload more!
