“Not yet!” screams the rabbit,
Running from the wolf.
“Not yet!” whispers the wilting rose
As the first snowflakes begin to fall
“Not yet!” cries the mother bird
When her children try to fly
“Not yet!” I cry
As I approach the last verse
“Don’t worry,” soothes my loyal book,
“I’ll be here waiting for you.”
