Symphony of Stars
Let me tell you what is
until now, unknown.
There is no heaven.
There is an after-life,
In the heavenly bodies
We admire every night.
Your soul remains eternal
Through song.
You travel up into the stars,
And they sing you a greeting,
They know your story,
They’ve been rehearsing your piece,
For years.
The harder your fight.
The more dynamic your song.
The more impact you’ve made,
The more percussive.
Soulmates,
If they’re lucky,
Get a duet, expressing their love,
Into the vast void,
A promise that refuses to be broken.
Their melodies mesh,
And they exist in harmony,
Just as they did on Earth.
Each color star is a different pitch,
Different constellations,
A different section.
Ursa Major, strings,
Pisces, woodwinds,
And so forth.
A symphony of stars,
Reverbrating,
Resonating,
Across the galaxy.
Rifts swiftly moving into infinity,
Passing through orbits.
The moon hears each one fade out,
And the next song begins.
Imagine the concert,
All astronauts have been able to
Experience.
How dare they keep it a secret.
A lifetime anthology,
For every live to have ever lived,
A never ending album.
And when you see them
Shimmering from outside your window,
It is really them playing,
But just as we can’t talk to the dead
Any longer,
We can’t hear them either.
