21 Cents
You have the power to reimagine another world
Where women don’t die every minute from giving birth
With causes that are 99.9% preventable.
You have the power to change statistics
To free 15 million child brides from marrying every year
And to stop violence against 1 in 4 women.
You have the power to change this vicious cycle
Where womanhood is associated with shame
And women make 79 cents to a man’s dollar.
You have the power to destroy the barriers
To get the 2 out of 3 illiterate adults, who are women, into schools
And to free the 20.9 million girls who are trafficke and feel scared and alone.
You have the power to change a girl’s life
Give her a pencil and some paper
Give her a chance because she will deliver.
We have the power to change these man-made problems
No one is going to give you the platform
You must take the crown and scepter.

I hope this poem will inspire people to make change. I got inspiration from a conference I went to about women's global health. I want to spread messages about the power of women.
