What a day to take Buddy to the park!
His golden hairs shimmered
in the sunlight - almost as if they were white.
With every wag of his tail,
you could see his happy smile.

He greeted almost everyone,
leaning into their knee caps
instead of tossing his paw out to shake.
Buddy usually has better manners,
but in his old age
he tends to forget.

Even though his years are adding up,
he is still a young pup at heart.
Buddy still drags me around
by his tug of war rope,
yanking me in the right direction.

One day I’ll miss those big paws,
but for now-
I am going to enjoy his jolly days
at the park.
