Malice
There’s a face staring back at me,
Dark eyes filled with hate and greed
There’s a story behind the shadow that I see
All this pain, fear, and shallow misery
There’s a war going on inside my head,
The only color that spills over is red
There’s a cold surface beneath my feet
Where men lay down their guns in defeat.

In my creative writing class we did different types of poetry and one of the things we tried was Ink blot poetry. We all recieved a random ink blot picture and we wrote a poem about it. My photo had a face and it reminded me of Joseph Stalin because of the distinct mustache in the face and the winter hat the soldier was wearing. I could imagine the soldiers lying in their own blood in the snow from the aftermath of a war. I suppose history was my inspiration for this piece.
