Standing Tall

Standing tall for all to see,
Touching the sky is no longer a would-be
Never swaying by the breeze
But one group sought to seize,
Two crashes like thunder
Brought all men to a blunder,
To watch land scream in fear
No time to shed a tear,
Men fought to defend
But fire they had to contend,
For all breath to leave your chest
To lay so many to rest,
Where life seemed to stall,
When two towers fall.

What inspired me to write thispiece is that once September 11th came around I thought that to pay my respects, I should do it in the form of what I love, which is poetry, so standing tall is a piece which uses my words, thoughts, and feeling to express what I feel when I think of the 11th.
