Goodbye
The last time I saw you,
You were laying in a hospital bed,
Watching Spongebob
And eating ice cream.
The last time i saw you,
it was a blurr,
Because I knew you were dying,
But I never imagined you’d leave without a goodbye.
And I’ll never forget your beautiful smile
The one that lit up my world,
And the way you’d shoot a basketball,
You were only 9 years old
When you passed.
4 years later
And I still can’t get you out of my mind.
It was heart breaking
to hear that my brother,
My best friend,
had died.
I remember all the good times we had,
Where we’d laugh for hours,
or cry.
You were my walking journal.
My little brother i never had
You were the best.
And now you’re gone.
I never really said goodbye.
So here it is.
Feb. 20, 2012.
I’ll never forget the day when God took my best friend.
And my happiness left my heart
And went with you to heaven.
I never thought living this way,
Without you in my life,
Would hurt so much.
When someone mentions your name,
My heart aches.
And I'm not so good with goodbyes.
But this one
is the best of all.
