Thunderclap
The rain poured down.
The thunder roared dangerously.
The lightning flashed brightly.
Then it stopped.
Silence.
I wait to hear.
I wait to breathe.
I wait to open my eyes again.
Thunderclap.
It has happened again.
Thunderclap.
Again.
Thunderclap.
Once more.
I cover my ears.
Wanting them to stop listening this tremendous agony.
Thunderclap.
I feel tears form in my eyes.
Thunderclap.
Then silence.
The faint sound of thunder rumbled in my ears.
I open my eyes.
The thunder was me.

I was inspired to write this poem by thinking about my self doubt and self esteem. I tried to relate it to something dangerous and frightning. I used a thunder and lightning storm to show the complete chaos that I imagine happens inside my head when ever I self doubt myself. I hope that the readers will enjoy the poem as much as I did writing it.
