Symphony is Life

they say that life is a symphony and i say sure, that seems simple enough
but we ain’t some two-bit string mess playing chopin
you and me? we’ve got a rhythm stronger than the cesium clock down at berkley

first off you got the lullaby. it’s a wagon wheel rocker that’ll sing you right off to sleep
it’s a half note adagio for beginners purposes. but we moved from that right quick.
the allegro starts, and so does the hopping. all us major key people get moving
it’s a giant dance party, no cover charge, just bring your music

then there’s my favorite number, a sweet little scherzo shimmering like asphalt in august
it never stops, like that tybee island breeze, but sweeter. can of coke sweet.
the beat starts up with the march and we’re perfectly in sync, you and me.
4/4, 2/2, 6/8. we got the rhythm. it comes natural for people like us
the drum is our feet, the trumpets our lungs, and the band’s feathered plumes our smiles

next up we got a little freedom. blow this entire thing to shreds. it’s a free for all jam
its our rhapsody, and we’re gonna make old freddy turn over in his grave
this is our life, jazzy blues on an eight beat to make our mommas weep
we don’t care, cause these are the real blues, we’re speaking up
there are no rules in the rhapsody. its pure music, music of the soul
let’s make richard mcduff proud. transcend time. we are the big pink and blue

now we got it going. let’s slow it down. harmonize.
repeat after me: it’s a canon. just follow the pattern
nice, nice. all them blues made my fingers sore
my back’s a breaking. i need to rest.
slow, easy. we’ve been rolling stones too long
it’s a slowing down. you ready? it ain’t over yet
ahh-ehh. let’s rest. this is a nocturne.
think its easy, hunh? well you need me.
just a bit longer. just a bit longer

it’s minor key now. im a shooting star
you there? you going with me?
that’s good. fermada out. that’s good.

This piece is based off the "All The World" monologue. There's a few refrences in there that I'd be impresed if someone pointed them out.
