A New Suit
I have never owned a suit before,
but I must say, I do enjoy this black
wool, it fits nicely. I made sure that
I had all the pieces: a waistcoat, trousers,
cufflinks, dress shoes, with socks and a tie,
matching of course.
A tie is quite difficult to maneuver, had to look
up a video online since I have never tied a tie before.
Never needed to, my life has honestly been
fairly uneventful until now. So I made sure that
everything had to be perfect for this moment.
I swung the door open, taking in a breath
of the beautiful outdoors. Excitement and
instinctual fear envelop my body as I march
toward the end. Then I leapt, watching
as my suit and tie flapped in the wind.
The only thing coming to my mind
is the shining face of the man who
sold me this suit. That’s a nice suit
you have there, special occasion coming up?
he asked me, his voice so full of life.
Well, when I go to meet God I want to look nice.
