Creativity
Why are you seen as such a bad thing in the world?
You provide ideas for inventions
Plots for our stories
Dreams for the hopeless
Yet the world sees you as something that potentially hinders success
Distracting from mathematics
Skewing your mind from science
And deterring those from more creative professions
Telling kids who want to grow up to be artists that their dreams are pointless
Useless
Impractical
Unwanted
Yet through this fog of silenced dreams are the ones who push through this murky bog
Those with the power to overcome this leaden path become those mold breakers
Modern heroes
That have the power to show the world the true success of the creative mind
Those Monets
Those Steinbecks
Those Poes
Those Shellys
Those Van Gohs
That push through the gauntlets of failure
Hear the trumpets of triumph
And just turn around to pass through creative purgatory
That tells them they are pointless
Useless
Impractical
Unwanted
Just so they can tell the world how poignant
Useful
Practical
And wanted
Their passion is.
