A letter to you,
Being alive
After almost dying
Is like waking up.
Like remembering
What it means
To want something.
Like it’s all you’ve got.
Because if you believe there is more,
You will miss.
But death will always be there,
It doesn’t go away
Because you know we are perishable.
Only looking at it through the edge of your eye
Where it is allowed to exist,
In your periphery.
But you want it more now
So you look at it in the eye
And you won’t give up until you have it.
What is it you want?
Is it life
Or is it death?
You need to make up your mind
But you cannot because it is never that easy.
If it was it would be a game.
You don’t know what to decide,
You only know what you want,
But what you want isn’t always what you need.
Swimming in a veritable sea of angst.
Moths in your stomach.
Hesitate and it’s over.
You decide
What you want
Is what you will get.
Tell them you want life
Do it
I dare you.
Because the best lies
Are always
Mixed with truth.
Sincerely,
A
Friend
