The day you left, I left too,
I watched your beauty and grace
slip from this world. The Devil’s blood
morphed your persona.
The way you looked at me was never the same,
but the way I looked at you wasn't either.
Two bags on my shoulder and one
trailing
behind.

They took my hand, and dragged me
toward a better life.
The choice wasn’t mine, it wasn't yours either.
Nothing about the yelling of the dank
empty house was inviting. There were
others tainted by the cruel world but no one knew
me,
my past.

They beat me here, a navy eye, wine
pouring from my raw nostrils, an
everyday occurrence. The physical pain is
easy, It is the solitude,
the life away from you that is worse. One day I hope
you save me, but first you must save
        yourself.

The words "behind" and "my past" at the end of stanza one and two are supposed to be to the left of the poem and "yourself" at the end of stanza three is supposed to be tabbed to the right of the poem!
