Teenage Love Games
She spends her days
thinking of you,
what you are doing at
every moment,
why has he not answered
in an hour she wonders.
She falls so
quickly for people like you,
though the truth is simple
she hides her naive eyes,
uneasy ears in desperation
that these whispers of
disloyal carelessness are
all just a girl overthinking a
guy. Admitting the facts
is just too hard for her
she wants to be loved,
important,
but to you its a game
she is not the prize,
to someone like you
she will never be
more than a text or a kiss
or two. To you, there is always
another “she”
to take the place of
her
Boys
He sits at your house
thinking of her, he texts her
in hiding and kisses you.
He cares for you its true,
but commitment is not his
“thing.”
So he continues to text
both her and you.
With his boys he's chill
just smiling away, not
thinking of you, not for a
second that day. ‘Cause
tomorrow you will be
there
he knows this for sure.
He is not willing to give up
the late drives with her
and spend that time with you.
But you play the game, just like him,
you flirt with other boys and
and kiss them too,
but you care for him, the other boy
just plays along,
and yet,
to you, there is always another “he”
to take the place of
him
