Circumstances
One phone call can destroy your world.
This news no one imagines getting.
It grabs your heart and crushes it,
Till the body is put into park.
Shaking, crying, lashing out
There is no stopping you.
Rushing out the door,
You leave
Hospital bound, then down your face
Tears streaming.
White as stale wonderbread
You find him, motionless
He is gone. You start to swoon.
Ground rushes up in your throat,
you catch a scream
You never got to say goodbye,
closure is out of reach.
They say that time, it heals wounds
But they lie because I still bleed.
