When Seasons change
We met in the summer,
as the sun shone upon us.
No worries or problems,
trapped in our own world,
together.
It was the summer.
We watched the sun rise.
The warmth of the sun spreading,
as it filled the dark sky with light.
Eventually summer changed to fall.
I reached out for you,
but you were gone,
The dying leaves fall to my feet.
Fall turned to winter.
The days got colder,
longer,
darker.
The sun became harder to find.
When I looked for you,
you were too shrouded in the darkness to notice.
So I sat,
and watched the sun set.
The darkness enclosed the last of the light.
Day turned to night,
light into dark.
One world,
became two.
“Us” had turned to “you.”
