Nightmares
Monsters crawl out of the ground,
tackling the night,
In disguises of greed,
I see them race through the yards,
destroying everything happy and fun,
Monsters
hunt down candy as another bowl is emptied,
they fill their hunger
with sugar and adrenaline,
destroying everything happy and fun,
I trudge on through the darkness,
My own little monster scurries
house to house,
destroying everything happy and fun,
I hear the monsters screech and grumble,
they shake the world
beneath their claws,
destroying everything happy and fun,
The monsters grin as they feed on their prey,
house to house until time runs out,
Everything they’re not until the sun comes up.
