Where Im From
im the las of two the second of one
brought to a place with big buildings, all the same
little maintenance cars back and forth
big front yard fille with fluffy green grass
out until the street lights turned on
blue , purple , pink cotton candy sunsets
always at the corner was the man i called dad.
stepping inside music blasting
laughter and giggles and the smell of a freshly cooked meal
from having 4 to just us 3
no more music no more mouth watering aromas
no more meeting at the corner just to my aunts
getting picked up by mom and getting surprised
a little cotton ball peeping out her winter jakcet
ceneter of attention until that one call
from rarely ever seeing him to always being with him
no more trips for two but 3 with he puppy
no more awkward family gatherings
not whole but to me it was completely whole
