I’m from a place that will forever be in my heart even when I’m not there.
It’s all a blur but I know that it was great.
My childhood was built in two different countries which gave me two very different perspectives about life.
In the motherland everything was easy
Not a worry in the world.
My grandparents and mother were always by my side even when my dad was on the other side.
We were reunited at last in the winter of 2003.
I was very small but I had enjoyed my time living in the tropical warm weather.
But coming here was such a big change
Trying to get comfortable with things that didn’t make sense.
I had to learn a new language which wasn’t bad
But trying to adapt and communicate made me very frustrated
I wanted to leave
I wanted to go back
But I knew staying here would give me a better future in my life.
I had an amazing journey with my brother
We were always there entertaining each other.
My parents were always great,
Pleasing us with things that made us real happy.
Endless amount of trips always came our way.
There was never a dull moment in my childhood.
From all the groundings, all the mistakes
And all the lessons it made me the person I am today.
