Love is Blind
People say, love is blind
Or is it just us?
Already blind, yet hoping love can make us see.
Maybe love can show us the way,
But as others warn,
Once consumed by the darkness
The emptiness
We can only dream of the world that used to be of color.
Because once scarred,
No matter how hard you try to repair those injured eyes,
Those broken hearts,
The world loses a bit of color each time.
Until the end,
When black is the only color you think of
When you hear of love.
Maybe love does blind us
Or maybe it just shows us the we’ve been blind for ages;
Stepping blindly into the darkness
Thinking blindly we can outrun the inevitable.
Love, is not blind.
We are.

I don't want to be the so-called "debbie downer", especially since Valentine's day is rapidly approaching; however, I feel as though many people step blinding into relationships with no consideration of the inevitable consequences foreseen by others all around. This is what I find interesting about human nature; how we are so easily drawn to things that are dangerous and how willingly we are to fall into traps with no regard.
