Earth of Attent
We hear your tales of woe,
as you walk down our path pondering
where it all went wrong.
We have heard many stories belonging to
many different souls.
Our branches reach down towards you
in an attempt to provide a sense of comfort.
It is our way of telling you we understand.
As we reach the height of the heavens
we whisper to the stars,
telling them to keep your path lit with their
warming glow.
Reminding you of nights past
when you think everything went awry.
Though, all you must do is reach
out to them once more
and you will see their delight from hearing
from you again.
You live under the notion that you are to
live a solitary life.
And we know your bull-headed ways will
not allow you to open up to another
breathing creature.
So we will have to suffice.
The wind lifts up the message we have sent
from our leaves,
passing it on from vine to flower to mountain.
Telling Mother Nature that you need us all
tonight.
She listens.
And we hope the nightbirds’ song of condolence
reminded you that you are not solus.
