Is it racism or hypocrisy?
Color all around us, but now a days it seem to be
that the color of our skin is the most important.
Black and White
Lightskin and Darkskin
Brown or Caramel
Ashy or Pale
How do we decide what we are
That’s even if we are given the chance to
Because apparently you decide for me and define me
Thinking you have me all figure out because I’m Black
Dangerous, Hideous, A Thief, A Crook, A Dropout, and Fatherless
Please don’t shoot at me I really don’t have a gun as you can see
But see if I hated you for this it would only make me a hypocrite
Because I was also taught that I should trust a white man
Because he’s above the law, He’s Better, Well Educated, Rich and Famous
Everything that apparently I can’t be
Yeah!
We have all these colors but that’s only if we choose to see.
