"She would certainly be a fearsome thing to behold."

-Jane Auten

I went to camp on a lovely summer’s day,
A night before I dreamt of being stranded on a cay.

Twenty seven sheets of paperwork to fill,
For all the food we reced* I don’t want to see the bill.

We set out by canoe on camp’s Canal,
Four days aloof to make our bond final.

                     Next we met the Brothers,
                  Heavy backpacks made us sisters.

                         Back on camp’s Canal,
                      kayaking to the final castle.

                              Tears shed,
Go home? I’d rather be dead.

*Reced (Rehk-ed): Rec is the term for a Request for at camp. Request forms are used to get the supplies and food you need for out of camp trips.
