We are numb
A frightening idea turned into a plan
To shoot up the school until everyone was dead
A gun bought
A time set
A pistol pointed
A trigger pulled
A soul released
Sirens ring in the distance
“Boom boom shot shot” another gone
Protection flawed
We preach it but it’s wrong
Eighty-eight die a day
From the south side of Chicago to the burbs of Colorado
Society feels sorrow
We are in denial
The president is done
He says, “We’ve become numb”
From Newtown to San Bernardino
It seems like common sense but nothing has been addressed
The war has begun but the NRA thinks it has won
What will it take to begin a revolution?
More shootings?
More death?
More trauma?
Wake up!

This is for anyone who is angered by the eighty-eighty people that die a day from gun violence. This is for the people that want to help create change.
