golden
He has thunderstorms echoing in his head
Natural disasters breaking his bones
His ribcage bruised from earthquakes
His knees scraped from tornados
If you look into his eyes you can see hurricanes raging in the blue
And I don’t think he realizes it
Realizes that he isn’t a disaster at all
He is made up of mountains and oceans
Icebergs where there should be wildflowers
But one day he’ll look up and see the eye of the storm within thunder and lightning
And he’ll realize that golden light shines through even when it looks like the storm will never end
And he thought he was a disaster and she was the light
But he’ll realize that he’s truly been
Golden
All along.
