Child of the Universe
My struggles have not become my identity.
Many things define me;
My past, taste in music, my parents.
My first love, my friends and my idols.
My sense of individuality, spirituality, independence.
My heard-headedness and freewill.
I like to think I see events more clearly than I did before.
My recent enlightenment has brough my mind far,
And has changed my perspective drastically.
A lot of things have helped me become who I am today,
And although they have helped me grow, my struggles are not my identity.
I have overcome them, and they have taught me many lessons that I couldn't have learned without going through them.
They have helped me become myself,
But they're not who I am.
I am so much more than my difficulties.
I am a child of the universe;
Every fiber of my being coming from the stars and surrounding galaxies.
Today, I am the oldest I have ever been, and the youngest I will ever be again.
I will continue to grow everyday in my own way,
Until I pass from this life into the next.
Many things that have occured in my life have made me who I am;
Mistakes, accomplishments, dificulties, family, friends.
And I don't think I would change it for all of the riches in the world.
