Renaissance
And up again I rose –
I was reborn.
Only this time,
From the dive I took for the
Baptism.
Once again –
In a drafty foreign room
In the color of the winter
Snow.
Only this time,
No salutation of joy and
Wonder.
No arms wrapped around
Me
In new love.
Only the impassive eyes
Of the man,
Whose arms held me
For the first time.
I felt no remorse.
The slumber in the interim
Of my
New and old lives
Held the peace I was
Looking for.
