Horses

Everyone watches the horses
they watch them through a window
the window is glass
but the glass is stained
and no one can see the horses
"Are the horses here?"
the people ask
but no one responds
because no one knows if the horses are there
or if the they weren't at all
"The horses have died!"
an old man shouts, "They left us all alone!"
and the people left
leaving the horses all alone.
