Silence.

Tick.

A chorus of life, green.

Surrounding, avoiding the solitary

Never a moment, bustling we live.

Regretting, avoiding,

Tock.

Its winding down,

Casting the pink

Reflecting all gray,

a beautiful ending to ominous dismay.

Tick.

The rats commence their knawing

Spiders prickle my neck.

You call this peace? I am, a wreck.

Tock.

I fly my kite,

A haze ignites

I am alive again,

maybe I can outlast

the night.
