Favorite Quote:
"Though she may be little, she be fierce."

Chains dragging,
Heart pounding,
Will he ever be at rest?
Dark shadows,
Unsafe corners,
Blind Memories,
Of Unlit Candles
Doom has defeated,
Light is no more,
Coldness is shattering,
His poor unloved soul,
Gates guard against his freedom,
He's lost his will to live,
Depression has washed over him,
Like the water washed through sand.
A moan comes from his dried lips,
A groan from his burdened chest,
Black ribbons string his mind,
Like snakes curling around his neck,
He paces day and night,
He whispers through the walls,
He prays that soon his freedom
will be there to claim at dawn.

I was inspired to write this piece after reading "The Raven", by Edgar Allen Poe. He is one of my all time favorite poets!
