War Before Your Eyes
Boom! goes the sound of the cannon
Bam! goes the grenades,
Snap! goes the muskets
“We are at war” I say.
Run and run and run I do
with a musket in my hand,
I hide behind a broken wall
and behind it, the remains of a marching band.
I dash across the battlefield
heading for my team’s base,
until I hear a loud bang
and a musket ball hits my face.
My cheek bleeds out with blood and teeth
I start to crawl on the ground,
then I finally reach the base
I get shot again and start to pound.
I may have delivered the package
to my team far far away,
I stay in the infirmary room
while the package keeps enemies at bay.
