Olympic Training Center
My first time going to the Olympic Training Center was incredible.
It all began with an invite from one of the Olympic BMX coaches.
I was shocked and nervous all at the same time, the feeling was scary.
After a week i finally made the decision to take my BMX career to the next level.
The day i flew out to San Diego to the training center was awesome.
My mom was trying to calm my nerves telling me just to give it my all.
I couldn't sleep on the plane, I had butterflies and was envisioning every scenario like
What if i mess up? What if i do great? What if i try to hard?
Finally i landed.
As i approached the white van with Olympics signs and logos i felt ecstatic.
The whole drive there was like a dream, sunny skies and palm trees surrounded me.
It was like nothing i had ever experienced before.
When we reached the Olympic Training Center
The gate was covered in Olympics banners and American flags
Red, white, and blue was splattered everywhere.
Once i was on site i went to registration and got my own Olympic Athlete badge
I felt so official and i had never felt that level of gratification before.
Everywhere i walked there were amazing athletes from all the different sports.
i met many gold medal Olympians and fantastic athletes.
It was like nothing i had ever experienced before.
The first day of training was exciting.
During training you could hear the voices of all the coaches yelling
Everyone was scared but i felt right at home.
All of us athletes were working so hard to impress the coaches and earn our spot.
About half way through the week i had some of the best results
I felt on top of the world.
When the end of the week had come i was excited and sad
I wanted to stay and experience more great things.
I was also happy to go home and see my mom and other friends.
I had made so many new friends including 2 of my best friends i have now.
It was like nothing i had ever experienced before.
Nothing will ever replace these memories i have made
I'm so excited i get to continue my Olympic journey
And make many more amazing memories.
It was my greatest experience by far.
